A loose engine ground strap could also cause a shock.

Chip: You don't mention if your OD tranny has the switch in the gearshift,
but if it does, check to make sure the wires to the switch are not grounded
to the gearshift lever. They are very close. I had the same minor shocking
experience with mine a few months ago. Hope this helps.
