FWIW, I have had the same set of untouched Bosch Platinums in another of my
cars for twelve years (53,000 miles). They seem to me to be worth it when
you don't want to pull the plugs all the time.
I'm convinced that platinum plugs _do_ extend the plug replacement interval
because all the major new-car manufacturers now use them to get their
100,000 mile emission certifications. They sure don't install those stupid
fuel atomizer magnets, do they?
Speaking of the twin electrode theory, ever notice how many other new cars
use a plug with a V-notch cut into the anode and electrode? Same concept
I'd say. Works best when the plugs are new because the edges of the
electrodes are sharp. Hard to gap properly though. (Unless you have the
proper little tool, heh-heh)
