I was always wary of the slant engine from Triumph until I got one in good
nick, finally died of old age the head came off without too much trouble, I
think a lot of the bad stories stem from the DPO syndrome of "I've had cars
for years and only ever put water in them during the summer, and sometimes a
bit of anti freeze of a winter". The head problem only seems to occur if the
things overheat drastically, and this is usually caused by the insides
getting furred up due to lack of corrosion inhibitor!
