Perhaps more available, and cheaper still, is to buy "waterproof membrane"
in a roll from your building supply house.

Fitting the description of the first "vinyl sheet" product,  this stuff is
also called ice and water dam, and should be available at Home Depot and
others.  A whole roll of 60 feet is about $60 C$.


This "version" of the tip originally came from the Volkswagen arena.  Little
cars and big sound?  Sounds logical to me!
