Here's Mark's reply to my inquiry.. It's an early (small tappet) 1147. Clark -=-=-=-= Clark, The engine # is FC17848HE. I transplanted a 1500 from a 78 into the 72 and it will (hopefully) see the road in the next couple of months. Luckily I had the complete 78 as a parts doner, I ended up using it's driveshaft too.
