Hello all. I just got back from an excursion and am happy to report that
after topping up the radiator and reservoir yesterday, my overheating at
idle problems are gone. Running cool now.
Upon pulling back into my garage, I decided to lift the bonnet to
investigate the sound of buzzing bees coming from the engine bay. I've
isolated the culprit as the distributor. I lubed the distributor shaft with
just a smidgen of grease not too long ago. What give here? Placing my hand
on the cap and holding it firmly seemed to quiet the drones.
Do I need a new distributor cap and rotor?
.
Best wishes,
Jeff in San Diego
