I am about to do this mod when I get my tub back and will be using some
grained vinyl material. I intend to use some impact adhesive applied to both
paint and material to get a good bond. I think the material needs to be
flexible to follow the contours of the frame and only becomes stiff, i.e.
when you remove the old trim, after the glue has been applied and absorbed
into the material. Let me know what you decide to use and how you fixed the
material on.
Regards,
Pete.

Subject: Replacement trim
Has anyone been able to fabricate the plastic trim that goes around the
windshield of a Spitifre 1500 (probable similar to GT and TR6)? I was just
wondering if there is any source for the stiff leather-grain material,
maybe a sheet of plastic or something. I thought of using vinyl trim, but
that's too flexible and I'm afraid it might come loose later.
