Hi Ken,
Yep, that glovebox does go in there. I've a '71 MK IV and i got mine in
several times. Originally the DPO had torn the steering lock off and mounted
another under the dash so the box and bar would NOT go ion.
I still have the bodgy ignition switch, but moved it over to the dash support,
padded it so it looks original (well almost), and put the original box and bar
back in. The cardboard usually gets out of shape and may need dempening and
forcing into correct shape again.
