Subject: **** Pretty Park Worm warning ****
Folks,
Our system was hit by a worm called "Pretty Park.Exe" today. This is type
of worm/virus file. If opened, it will automatically be sent to other
email recipients in your email address folder. The recipients will assume
that you have sent them a benign file, and guess what, they then join the
list of those infected/infecting.
Like all viruses, worms and trojans, it will not do anything if you do not
open it. If anyone sends you a file with "park" in the title, or an .exe
with a size of 54,898, do not open it. Just delete it ASAP.
This is not a hoax: this is a clever, and damaging worm that is targetted
at network ops rather than home users, but it is a PITB in all cases.
