The stuff I used on the transmission tunnel was obtained locally for a
fraction of what VB, Moss, etc., charge. It is roughly 1/4 inch thick and
has foil on both sides.
I also bought a roll of a thicker material (from VB) that I am going to use
for heat/sound insulation under the hood. This material has foil on one
side only.

Reid and list,
the type of insulation you described for lining your trans.
tunnel... is it the same as the rolls of insulation sold in 3' x 4' sheets
by
Vicky Brit, Moss, etc. for around $20 (one brand name is "Dynamat", I
think.) I
ask 'cuz carpet and a form of insulation for sound and heat are coming up
soon
on the restoration agenda. If anyone out there has a suggestion for the
best
insulation for my use, please chime in .
