Actually Jeff, the lug nut for the wire wheels is only different from the
standard steel wheels, in that it is beveled on both sides and/or shorter
than a standard steel wheel nut (the kind used under the hub caps, not the
later chrome dome type). This is for clearance of the wire wheel hub, not
for socket against the adaptor clearance. The size for the wrench or
socket is the same, and while it makes it a pain to tighten since normal
sockets have too thick a wall, it can be done I have them on my GT6, and
in fact I used some steel wheel ones, that I beveled, and shortened on the
wheel side myself to match the wire wheel ones I had, using my lathe. Been
on the car for 10 or so years now -
