Hi all. As part of my brake overhaul I tried to crack open the rear drums
this evening to remove the old shoes and wheel cylinders. I removed the two
screws, which I believe are what holds the drum in place, loosened the brake
adjusting nut on the lower backside of the drum all the way
counter-clockwise ...and couldn't get the drum off. I tried gently prying
it off to no avail. I made sure that the handbrake was off. In fact, at
one point I even disconnected the handbrake clevis.
The only thing I manged to do was knock one of the lugs screws back into the
drum where it fell to the bottom.
Did I miss a step here? I'm pretty sure that I'm NOT supposed to remove the
1" center nut, right? I sure hope not, because I don't think I could get it
off if I tried. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Best wishes,
Jeff
