Alan, it actually works, and is sometimes the only way to go! The last one
I did I screwed three screws into it and tied them all to the same 1/4 inch
rope (I had the diff held in a vise) and I attached the other end of the
rope to my come-along a pulled it out (by the way this hurts like hell when
it goes and you are standing in the way) But after doing everything
imaginable to remove it this was the only item that worked.

Folks a couple of weeks ago I sent an email on this. What with the
holidays and other things, I never got much further.
I now have the flange and nut removed. ( long wrench did the trick, I
borrowed it).
Pretty quick when you get the right tools. All parts by the way are
marked for alignment and I counted the turns (almost eleven full turns)
But the old oil seal is not so easy. apart from destroying it in
removal, does anyone out there have a trick or two that I can use. I
have confined space as all I have is the axle stands (on the frame not
the axles). Th manual says drill holes and use self tapping screws.
Anyone try this?
