Patrick,

I've used quite a bit of POR-15. I personally think it is a better paint
for the chassis and eng. bay. It doesn't chip when hit by a stone or a
wrench. I've also scrapped the undercoating from all my wheel wells and
the floor pan on my Spit and painted them with POR-15. I also painted the
inside of the rocker panels with it.

I have painted over the POR-15 on the chassis of my Bricklin using an
enamel black paint. The reasion was that the POR-15 with turn whitish
from UV light and the chassis of my Bricklin has been sitting in my garage
for quite some time while I've been restoring it. The sun had started to
"fade" the POR so I sanded it lightly and painted over it. I haven't had
any problems with painting over it. But most of the parts I've painted
over the POR haven't really seen the light of day yet.

As to the cheapest place to get it, look around your area for a "major"
car show, especially something like a State or National AACA meet. There
is almost always a POR rep. at these. You also get the cheapest prices
there. At $36 a quart it's expensive, but if you use it wisely it goes
a very long way. I can't tell you how many quarts I've been through on the
Spit, Bricklin, TR1800, and Sonett. It seems to be a really good product.
But unfortunately, I would be able to tell you how it really does for another
20 or 30 years.
