Hello fellow listers!
As some of you may know, I am the proud owner of a 1981
TR7 DHC. I've
owned this car since, oh, about Valentine's Day. I
have been given a
very generous offer to purchase a 1980 Triumph
Spitfire, WITH overdrive,
for $4000. A good price, I think. The one problem is
is that I'll have
to sell my TR7 first, and I'm not sure if I should or
not.
My TR7 is in above-average shape (as far as TR7s go!)
and has very
limited cosmetic rust. The underbody is covered with
many layers of
Ziebart undercoating and is very solid. It's a rarish
1981 Model, 76,000
miles, with the Bosch L-Jetronic Electronic Fuel
Injection, that was
originally bought in England by a US Air Force officer,
and shipped back
a few years later (1984). You can see pictures, etc.
at my website:
http://members.xoom.com/bfurgalus/ .
The Spitfire is an Inca Yellow model, 49,000 miles, all
emissions
control stuff attached. It has NO rust, and has
original paint,
interior, top, tonneau, and boot covers, all in great
shape. It also
has overdrive (as mentioned earlier). What do you guys
think? S
hould I sell my TR7 and buy the Spit, or should I hang
on to the TR7? I
like the TR7 a lot, but I also love the Spitfires.
If I do decide to sell the TR7, I'm planning on selling
for $4000, so if
anybody reading this wants a nice, solid TR7 with a
neat history, or
konws somebody who is, drop me an email! I am in the
Cleveland, OH
area. I'd be happy to put you in touch with the
previous owner, a pretty
famous (infamous? :) Wedge guy here in Ohio, who would
be happy to
second my description of the car.
As always,
Brian
