Evil Black liquid you got it, if evil is eating up paint !

Black stuff is worse !

But seriously it is bad to get on any surface, as far as installation it is
the reverse of the removal other than the bleeding.

You need to bench bleed the mater prior to putting it back in the car.
fill it with fluid and put it in a vise, actuate the plunger and get the air
out of the cylinder, constantly check the fluid level or you will put air
back in it.

Most of the fluid will stay in the cylinder after. Release the bleed screw
on the slave down on the tranny and use compressed air to blow out the line.
This is real important if you have "black" fluid in the old one.

Hook everything up and bleed some more using the pump and release system, or
find someone that has a bleeder apparatus. I bought one from AutoZone for
$30.00 and it's well worth the money.

Good luck and make sure you don't get any brake fluid on the paint.

You might look at silicone as a fluid replacement Vs the regular stuff, it
won't eat paint.

Hello,

I just bought a new clutch master cylinder and am getting ready to install
it. My manual assumes that I know what to do when it says, "replace it."
Well, I don't, no surprise there.

Will someone kindly send me step-by-step directions, including the ones that
most folks would do as a matter of common knowledge. Like, "Fill with brake
fluid before bleeding."

Speaking of brake fluid, what's left of the stuff in the current leaking
cylinder is this evil black liquid.

As always, thanks for all and any advice,

Tom
