The blinker unit is in the inside of the dash, not the firewall.  Its there
so you can hear it too.  But first you should check all the bulbs and their
sockets.  Especially the rear clip sockets.
The horn's relay is above the master cylinder pointing toward the heater
valve.  Mine was intermittent and replacement was the answer.  Also the
spring connector under the steering wheel should be checked.
