Of all the states to have title hassles in, Missouri is probably one of the
worst. Getting a replacement title is no piece of cake.
First, was the car titled to the seller? If so, the seller can get a
replacement title for about $10 or so.
If not, I'm not quite sure of how you would do it. You cannot title a car in
Missouri with a bill of sale. Perhaps in your home state you can, I don't
know. In California, where records are not kept past 7 years or so, it's
easier, I think.
Or you can try to find a junker with a title and switch comission plates.
