Spitfire Camber Compensator

I think I understand the purpose of a camber compensator on a Spitfire.
To limit how far a rear wheel can drop, hopefully preventing it from
being caught under the car when one side of the rear raises up and then
drops.

Is this something that is bought or something that is made?
