I went through this decision process a while ago and came to the conclusion
that the 3.29 would be too low unless you were running a bigger or highly
modified engine.
This was based on advice from many on the list (Hi Joe).
I'm going with the 5-speed Conversion from Components Components in NZ and
my existing 4.11.
Similar final gearing to O/D but with 'Japanese Reliability' and for about
the same cost.
I'll be down there in December so might even pick it up myself.
