A couple days ago we were talking about smog requirements and carbs etc and
somebody said that in their area CO is a max of 6.0. I was just reading
through my files and came across my smog test results from just 2 weeks ago.
I'm in California and these are the max numbers allowed (for a 76 at least).
You'll notice the test is run on a dyno of sorts as a load, simulating road
use. This makes it even tougher to pass. The smog dyno can not measure HP
however.
MAX allowed:
CO 1.59 @ 15mph, 1.39 @ 25mph
HC 277 @ both speeds
NO 2797 @ both speeds
Compare these to your area.
