Someone help, I'm choking

I have an odd problem.  My car has a manual choke, and a Stromberg carb.
Whenever I drive for a good distance the choke vibrates on.  All I have to
do is push the cable back in to get the idle down when I hit the
stoplight.  This is starting to get annoying.  Anybody know a solution?
