Sorry for the late reply on this one.  I was away for a week and I'm still

I was admiring some of my fellow enthusiast's trailers too, and talking
with the owners.  The 'full-bottomed' type has another plus:

Any parts that fall off the car stay on the trailer!

Don't laugh, _two_ owners had this happen with their cars....
