Hi Cecil,

Two possibilities come to mind.  1.  The bonnet is too far out for the
latch  to engage.  2. Maybe you have the catch on the bulk head too far down
and the locating cone too far up so the catch on the bonnet never gets down
far enough.

You might be able to see what is happening by opening the door and looking
forward into the latch area.

Which car is this on - the 80? ( not that it makes any difference as far the
latch)
