Paul,

Connect the brown/yellow wire to terminal 1, or R, and connect the brown wire 
to terminal 2, or F. On some alternators, the terminals are labled 1 & 2, and 
on others, they are labeled R & F. If they are not labled, the terminal to 
the left, CCW, looking at it from the back, is terminal 1, or R. The right 
terminal, CW, is 2 or F.
