Chassis Number

Yes, there is a Chassis number, not to be confused with what 
BMIHT calles a Chassis Number, meaning the commission number.

        The Chassis number (frame number) is on a metal plate spot 
welded to the left long frame rail (in N.A., anyway), just in front of 
the firewall.  You'll have to scratch away to find it, covered with 
dirt, AND chassis paint.

        The number on the side of the scuttle near the hood catch, on a 
long thin aluminum plate, pop riveted on is the Body Number (not to be 
confused with the Commission number!

        The Commission number is on the large squarish plate, pop 
riveted, either on the scuttle, or on the door post.

        FYI, BMIHT records show only the body number, and Commission 
number (what they call Chassis Number) cross-referenced to the engine 
number, which is.......
