I completely agree.  Its not worth it to me to convert to FI.  If you really
must have that sort of involvement or power it can be done with Webers.  Or
frankly in my opinion done on a better car.  - Don't shoot!
I have however seen Porsche 914's with a VW rabbit/Golf FI system.  Not
worth the headache and the next buyer may not want it.  Much thought must be
taken into the various sensors (and where you'd locate them) that are
required as well.   Also when required how would you pass smog tests?
Its a simple car.  Keep it that way or you ruin the formula!
