Water Temp gauge?

Does anyone out there run with an aftermarket temp gauge?  I was thinking
about installing one where the radio goes (oil pressure gauge there now,
room for another one).  The only thing is, I want one that gives me the temp
in degrees not just cold and hot.  I have seen direct reading ones at Auto
Zone but how do I hook it in????
