Hi all!

It was so absolutely gorgeous today here in the Dallas area that I had
to take Elliott ('68 Spit) to work today. The whole fourteen miles in
to work I got honks and whistles and "Nice car!" comments -- Elliott's
ego is starting to rival Nigel's (Hi Laura!)!! At a traffic light a
truck driver leaned out of his rig, and in a ve-e-e-e-ry Southern drawl
said, "Whut model is thayat?" I said, "It's a Triumph Spitfire," and he
said, "Whu-u-u-t?" I yelled, "TRIUMPH SPITFIRE!" and he said, "Whut
model?" I said, "Spitfire, that's the model!" He said, "Whu-u-u-u-t?"
I yelled, "SPIYUT-FAR!!!" in my best Texas drawl, and he goes, "Oh,
okay! Nice car!" :) I'm glad the light changed just about then...

I had lunch with a friend today (Elliott enjoyed sitting in the sun in
the parking lot of Gershwin's, rubbing mirrors with Mercedes and Lexus
(guess who got the looks -- not those cars! :), and found out her
neighbor is Bob Norwood (sp?), the guy who races/builds Ferraris and
other exotics -- he's featured in this month's Car and Driver. He has a
shop down on Northwest Highway here in town. She said whenever he sees
them outside as he is leaving his home, he revs the engine of whatever
it is he's driving -- Ferrari, Porsche, etc. and winds it up for them.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful Triumph kinda day as well!!

Keep Triumphing,
Susan Hensley :)
