John,
All production GT6 Mk1's should have the two clear reversing lights
that you mention inboard of the indicators. Having said that, if you
look at the advert for the GT6 Mk 1 titled 'all the world wants the
new Triumph GT6' with a back view of FWK319D, it can be seen that this
car does not have any reversing lights. Thus, only a couple of pre
production Mk1's did not have the reversing lights (can't remember all
the number plates of them!). The only other explanation is that the PO
has pot a Spitfire Mk1/2 rear panel on it and not made the extra holes.
While on subtle differences of pre production cars, if you look
carefully in the handbook, the rear view on page 21 shows a different
rear badge to the production model. Anyway, enough anorak stuff!
