If your after an off road Spit, don't I have a much better idea. You get an
offroad car and produce a Spit body kit for it. You then make and sell
this. Afther that you buy and island and retire. Safe in the knoladge that
there are some off road vehicals which look nice.

To make a spit body kit, take a Spitfire (borow one from a friend if your
moving out of the area) then cover it in glass fiber and make some molds.
Bolt allong with some other bits to a short wheel base 4x4 chassis, mabe
lengthening and widening the fiber glass body but hey. I personaly recon
this would be alot easer than trying to make a Spitfire a 4x4. I would also
research the front wheel drive Triumphs, I believe one has a modified
Spitfire front suspension, although I am not shure.

I was suveraly tempted by a Jaguar V12 engin from an XJS 4.2. Multipoint
fule injection etc. I suspect in a Spitfire it would realy go, and it will
be all British.

But seeing as I own the fastes breed of Spitfire UK1500 it's not so
importent to me:-)

Oh and I also think that Triumph developed a four wheel drive version of the
1500 engin from the front wheel drive version of the 1500. It was sortof
the two bolted together if you know what I meen. In line front wheel drive
engins, the Dolomites were.
