And as for a pull-out in a Spitfire, is there enough room in front of the
>gear lever to be able to pull a stereo out?

Yes there is enough room-if donre properly. WHen I had my first spit in
Italy, I had this type-actually, it was a cheepo Audiovox from the PX and I
took it to the local installation place where they converted it into a pull
out! Custom craftmanship! I know all the FIAT jokes but I'd rather need work
done in Italy than here-easier to find a mechanic with skill and a little
imagination.

Anyway-I used to go to Naples everyweekend with friends and no one ever
touched anything. I'm a firm believer in leaving the car _wide_ open and
everything in plain view. The only time was here when I left it with the
tonneau and got the tonneau slashed.

Now I have a cheepo Audiovox with removeable faceplate. Works great! And the
little red light that flashes when the face plate is off convinces even club
members that I have a car alarm!

That and my neaighbours think I'm a crazy weirdo b...h-I think that's really
my best car security! <G>

Just my .25$ (It really did start out as a shorter answer, folks!
