Hello everybody,
Today as I was driving to work in the Z (the spit
is still waiting for its tranny), I'd just put my foot down
coming out of a particularly sharp corner, when the engine
sputtered and died.
A large plume of gray smoke was pouring out of the hood.
Upon opening it, I found that the battery tie down clamp had come
loose, shorted to the positive terminal, and set the battery,
negative cable, and a few other things on fire. Fortunately, I keep
a fire extinguisher in the car, and had it out in a few seconds.
A little rigging and a bit of electrical tape had me back on
the road and only a little late to work.
So if you don't carry one, you should. You should
also make sure that your battery is secure, before you
attempt 1G cornering on a country road ;-)
Happy friday.
