I recently removed my XR-700 unit from my '77 Spitfire when I installed a
new Mallory Unilite distributor. I marked the wires as I removed it for
future reference. Here goes:
Red: + Coil
Black: - Coil
Purple: Chassis ground (I used the bolt that grounds several other wires at
the side of the battery box.)
Good Luck!
