What should the finish be on the wood dash on a late 1968 GT6 MKI?
Should it be high gloss like that on my '67 GT6 or should it be a matte
finish like that found on a MKII? This car has the padded steering wheel,
seats that latch to the seat rails and tandem brake system mandated by 1968
federal safety standards. Everything else on the dash is standard issue
MKI: chrome instrument bezels, toggle switches, pull knobs, all features
outlawed during this era. But if Triumph went through the trouble to change
the seats, brakes and steering wheel I wonder if they also changed the dash
finish at this time too.
