I am in the process of 'doing' the engine on my '78 Spitfire. I have
found that the bore for the cam shaft is oversize by .002" or so. As
there are no bearings to change, I have ordered a new cam with bearings
(Mk3 type) hoping there will be enough press fit to look after the wear.
If not I was thinking about boring the holes and putting a sleeve for
the bearings to sit in. Has anyone run into this kind of thing.
Hope my spelling is OK this time.
