Nice story Dan,
Reminds me of '82 when I fixed up a '73 Spit 1500 and drove it to Seattle and
back home--7100 mile round trip. My brother's garage in Renton, WA has a
Filon roof that gives complements to most all the senses. Light, pine cones,
Douglas fir needles and aroma; all blend with yes--the cacaphony of a 5 horse
compressor reverberating in my mind's eye. Seems like only yesterday-still
runnin against the wind.
I replaced the exhaust gasket in that garage 17 September's ago, only to have
the whole flange break off near Arlington OR on the way home. Fortunately a
wonderful little man in Arlington welded it for me--$5--and I was on my way as
the sun set. The next thing I knew God treated me to an enthralling display
of the Northern lights, the likes of which I've never seen since. Had that
exhaust held up like it should have, I would have been in Idaho when it shone
forth.
If you don't have one, call Victoria British 1-800-255-0088 and request a
catalog. The Roadster Factory would accommodate you as well. These catalogs
show just about everything you'd need to fix that exhaust. Good luck!
