Jay, I'll second Kieth's comments.
My Spit is a driver. Rather than toss the still-in-good-condition
original vinyl, I just had new cloth sewn in by an upholstery shop, a
remnant of a very durable 'modern' fabric. I DID replace the seat foams.
I had to make my own headrest foam repair kits.
My door panels were soaked, so I bought the ones from British Parts Northwest.
The plastic dash cover from Moss looks better than I thought it would.
Casual observers can't tell it isn't the real crashpad.
I re-laminated my own wood dash. Cleaned the inside & outside of the
instruments. Looks good.
Bottom line was still pricey - about $1000 for everything (no carpets
needed). But remember, you look at the dash, and sit in the seats, every
time you drive your Spitfire. Don't you deserve the finest? :)
