I think I understand the theory. By using two struts attached in
different places than the stock one, you could possibly achieve a nice
fit. Probably the best way to approach it is to measure the full open
and full shut distances in order to ascertain the size struts you need.
After you have found the right ones, it should be a simple matter to
fabricate attaching hardware to mount them.
