When I went to start my car this morning, it wouldn't catch. This could be
expected, b/c it was parked outside, and it normally takes a few tries.
However, after a couple of minutes of nothing, I started to smell something.
Smoke started coming out of the hood. "Great," I thought. I lifted the hood to
find a large electrical (not sure what it is called) connection in the middle
of the firewall sparking and smoking. I took out the battery cutoff knob,
trying to avoid electricution or fire and looked around. Nothing seemed out of
place. My dad said I just overloaded the starter. However, it ran yesterday,
and now it won't start. A quick test showed that the engine wasn't getting any
spark. Could the smoking connection have caused this? Any suggestions on what
to do?
