A buddy of mine did that conversion many years ago. He ended up putting
up a scoop in the bonnet. Surprisingly, though, it looked like the only
clearance he needed was in the area of the radiator and radiator cap.
So, measure carefully - maybe if you can replace the rad with something
else, you would be able to keep the stock Spitfire bonnet.
That being said, at All Triumph Drive-In 98, Scott Kohl from Oregon
showed up with a GT6+ where he replaced the rad with a rad and expansion
tank from an Audi. As it was a prototype-in-action, the components were
just strapped in. It worked well enough to get him from Oregon to
Vancouver and back.
