OK...I just found a 1979 Spit. It has a really nice orange paint job,
and the engine runs really well. The rest of it, however (sigh)...
Anyway, the bodywork is relatively rust free. It looks like a project
car that sort of fell on the wayside. They were asking $2900, yet I was
able to talk them down to $1600. It has hardly any clutch left, the
brakes are questionable at best, and nothing electrical seems to work
(except the guages). My question is this...what would this car really
be worth, and does anyone know of a better deal in the South
Louisiana/SouthEast Texas area? I am looking for a roadworthy example,
1976 or later. Please reply off-list, as I don't want to clog up this
line of communication.
