OK, so when I bought an LBC I expected a large variety of unusual
problems (I really did!). My '80 hasn't shown any signs of really
unusual problems, until today! I guess the PO did quite a good job of
maintenance for its advanced mileage (almost 215K!).
I had to go to a technical seminar at a hotel in Syracuse where I work.
SO...Today I drove her to work, as I've done several times before, with
no problem. I came out 4 hours later, touched the key and, above the
usual mellow purring tone of the exhaust (Monza) I heard the most
horrific squeal. Shut down quickly, lift bonnet, saw nothing wrong.
After a little tinkering I found I couldn't turn the Air Pump. I
proceeded to remove the drive belt to it and everything seems fine
otherwise.
Bottom line: Anyone with a later Spit ever rebuilt an air pump? What
can I expect?

'80 Spit (with a temporary name I can't repeat right now!!!!!)
Why couldn't I have an electrical problem? Those I could fix!
