Inches or millimeters wrenches

Hi all

I'm about to buy a new set of wrenches for my 77 spit, and since I'm going
to the states in a few weeks, I have the option to buy these in inches. In
Denmark wrenches are only available in millimeters. IMHO my present set,
which is in millimeters doesn't quite seem to fit properly. Is this me
beeing overly paranoid, or do i really need a set of wrenches in inches. 

Any advice on what and where to buy (LA-region) is greatly apreciated
