I just got off the phone with the owner of the '78 spit that I have been
talking about these last few days (see threads parts car and compression). He
countered my $350 offer with $400 and I accepted. Woo Hoo!! I go pick it up
this afternoon. I am really looking forward to going over it with a fine
tooth comb (what the heck is a tooth comb anyway?). My original interest was
just as a parts car, but I have determined that the chassis and body are
probably in better condition than my '73. So, as long as it does not turn out
to need anything really expensive I think I will try to get it running. Sorry
to those hoping for parts off it.
To Tim Studdard, I don't think I can help you with your spitfire additction.
I seem to be afflicted myself. This makes two spits for me so far and there
is no telling how much further it will go. One or two more and I will
probably have all the spits on the island.
