Here is an odd problem. Spit would sometimes have trouble starting.
Konk out without notice or loose fuel delivery under heavy demand but
usually run OK as low in town speed.
Problem turned out to be a lost fulcrum pin in the fuel pump. The lever
sort of actuated the diaphram without the pin holding it in proper
location, but would not deliver enough fuel for full on driving.
Additional tell tale sign was oil all over the side of the engine, from
blowing out the pin hole.
Thought this might be good info for others having fuel problems.
10 cent fix. Took 15 minutes to put a new pin in and clean up the mess.
