The other day Someone posted about the floor boards in there spit being
rusted out. In the case of my spit we decided that the floor boards
would have to wait a few years before we were going to completely
replace them. (The Kick panels were rusted, the floor under the seat was
fine) Braising metal in did not work because the floor metal was so thin
it just popped holes in it, not to mention that it was as impossible to
get the torch in the right position. I decided to try just using Pop
rivets and sheet metal. (I am sure not the best, but this is about the
only thing I have Gone cheap on during this whole Project) Then I used
a Fiberglass Repair kit and put about 3 layers of fiberglass over then
entire drivers side floor panel. Then under the car I used a good
health dose of Undercoating.
This worked great, but time will tell. I figured that there was no harm
in trying and if it turns out that this will not work I will get new
floor boards, but for now it worked great. Total cost??? About $15.
