In a pinch, I'm pretty sure you could use regular UNF bolts (5/16"
perhaps, but I'm not sure). Not as attractive, but certainly cheaper than
the chromed, acorn-head bolts, which should be available from all the
usual suppliers (TRF, Rimmer, etc.)

1/8" drill bit will rid you of the old rivet. And the new snaps, again
available from all the usual places, often come with (especially if you
ask) new rivets. These can be installed with almost any "pop-rivet" gun.
For originality, stay with the original plastic snaps. For somewhat
greater durability, you can get the older style metal ones used on the
earlier Spitfires (basically pre-Mk.3). Those metal ones are probably more
widely available from upholstery suppliers, etc., as well as from Triumph
vendors.

Best quality WHAT? Snaps, or other parts? It's a debate I'd rather not
enter. :-)
