The electric gauge will come with a sending unit that replaces the
pressure activated on-off switch and it should be a screw-in
replacement. If you didn't remove the sending unit from the Jag,
you'll need to go back and get it.
After installing the electric oil pressure gauge on my Spitfire I
removed a 3/8-24 bolt from the oil passage at the back of the head
and, using a 3/8-24 to 1/8 NPT adapter, mounted the old pressure
switch at the back of the head. As long as the idiot light is out I
know that I have at least some oil pressure to the valve train/rocker
arm assembly.
I checked the function of the idiot light immediately after shutting
the engine down and found that the light comes on just as the oil
gauge swings past 20 PSIG.

Wow four junkyards and none with any LBCs! Guess they
don't like em in MA. I did manage to find a XJ6 with nice
guages(need to fill in the holes the DPO maid on the
dash). So my question is this. I have a 68 GT6 and I was
wondering how to wire up the electric oil pressure guage.
I suppose I would have to remove the existing oil pressure
warning switch but what do I replace it with?
