It's a great motor. It'll last a good long time w/ typical care.
My brother had one in a ford van, totally neglected it and got 130,000 out of
it.
(Like NO maintenance, ever. Nothing. Not even oil changes.)
Inline 6's seem to last longer than V8's or V6's.... An old timer mechanic once
explained to me that it's because the crank is being loaded from one direction
only,
as opposed to a "V" where it's being loaded side to side as well... Sounded
good to
me.
(Besides, it's two cubic inches less than a friggin 302!!!)
